A drinking session between a group of companions at Purok Riverside, Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, on Sunday morning ended bloody as the suspect stabbed one of his drinking buddies to death.
The suspect, Argie Santiago, 40, stabbed the victim, identified as Jordan Octavio, of the same age, after a heated argument.
The initial investigation of the La Castella Municipal Police Station revealed that at around 5:30 a.m., the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session together with their friend, outside the suspect’s house. After some time, a heated argument ensued between the two parties.
During the altercation, Octavio allegedly tried to scare Santiago’s son, which provoked him. Santiago then took a bladed weapon and stabbed Octavio several times, hitting different parts of his body, which resulted in his death.
According to La Castellana MPS, upon their arrival at the place of incident, the responding personnel saw the victim lying on the floor, already bloodied and motionless.
The victim was brought to the Rural Health Unit (RHU) where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Further, the body of the victim will undergo postmortem examination.
Santiago, who fled after committing the crime, was arrested through a pursuit operation and is presently under the custody of La Castellana MPS for proper disposition of the case.*
