The La Castellana Municipal Police Station was honored by the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region as the Best Municipal Police Station in the region during the celebration of the 124th Police Service Anniversary held at Kanlaon Hall, Camp Alfredo Montelibano in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City yesterday.
PMaj. Melchor Patna-an, La Castellana MPS officer-in-charge, received the certificate of recognition and the plaque given by Regional Director PBGen. Arnold Thomas Ibay.
“I believe we have an edge compared to other municipal stations; we have our best practices on law enforcement and community engagement that led us to this award,” Patna-an said in an interview.
He cited that among those practices were active law enforcement, active response during the Kanlaon volcano eruption, and the Seal of Good Local Governance they achieved.
Moreover, he also claimed that the 13 barangays within La Castellana are all drug cleared.
“This recognition is not just a reflection of our success, but also of the dedication of our men and women in service. This honor inspires us to do more. The La Castellan MPS is always open for the public and for the people of La Castellana,” Patna-an accentuated.
Moreover, during the said awarding ceremony, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) was awarded as the Best Police Provincial Office, while the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) claimed the Best City Police Office award and Best City Mobile Force Company.
“This commendation serves as a testament to the steadfast dedication and resilience of PRO NIR personnel, not only those engaged in frontline operations but also those diligently performing vital administrative duties,” PRO-NIR said.*
