• RICHARD T. CABALLERO JR.

A senior citizen was severely injured after he was shot four times by a laborer while attending to his farm animals on Sunday at Sitio Kaliban, Barangay Banogbanog, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Police said that the 61-year-old victim was riding his horse, preparing to leave the area after tending to his animals.

While he was on his way home, the suspect, alias Jr., suddenly arrived and, without provocation, shot him with a firearm of unknown caliber.

The victim sustained four gunshot wounds to his right leg, including two on his thigh, one on his knee, and another on his calf.

After the incident, the victim managed to escape and seek assistance from a nearby residence, and was eventually brought to Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities are now launching a hot pursuit operation to determine the whereabouts of the suspect and to facilitate his possible arrest.*
