A 39-year-old male laborer sustained multiple injuries after his companion stabbed him during a drinking session at Barangay Lima-Lima, Isabela, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday afternoon.
Investigations by the Isabela PNP revealed that, prior to the incident, there was a gathering for an unknown celebration, where both the suspect, identified as 37-year-old alias ‘Jess,’ and the victim were having a drinking session with two others.
According to police reports, without any apparent reason, the suspect suddenly drew a kitchen knife from his waist and stabbed the victim in the chest.
The victim sustained three stab wounds to the right chest, one to the right bicep, and one to the right side of the stomach.
Further reports indicated that the victim fled to escape further harm, but the suspect chased him and continued the attack.
Despite his injuries, the victim tried to defend himself as both grappled behind the house before being separated by their two companions.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident, while the victim was rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment, where he is now recovering.
Following the incident, the Isabela police launched a hot pursuit operation and successfully apprehended the suspect, who is now in police custody for proper disposition.*
