As the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office marked on August 30 its 50th founding anniversary at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson have assured his continuing full support to the men and women of NOCPPO.
For half a century, NOCPPO has been the stronghold of safety and security of our province, Lacson said, adding that its steadfast commitment to upholding the rule of law, defending the vulnerable, and fostering peace has been a foundation of Negros Occidental’s progress.
While the role of police force is often defined by the vital duty of maintaining public order and safety, NOCPPO has transcended this mission. It has become a steadfast partner of the provincial government, acting in solidarity with us in programs and initiatives that safeguard not only the security of every Negrense but also uplift their wellbeing, furthering the overall development of Negros Occidental, the governor further said.
The five hectare lot being occupied by NOCPPO was donated by the family of the late Alfredo Montelibano Sr. In recognition of his generosity, the police camp was named after him.
During the founding anniversary rites, the Montelibano family was honored by NOCPPO under the leadership of PCol. Rainier de Chavez. Leandro Montelibano, the guest of honor and speaker, was represented by Atty. Rayfrando Diaz.
“His generosity in donating the property where the NOCPPO office stands is a testament to his vision for peace and progress in Negros Occidental. We are grateful for this lasting gift, which remains a cornerstone of our security and progress,” Lacson added.
In honor of the Montelibano family, NOCPPO conferred plaques of appreciation, which were received by Atty. Diaz.
Similar plaques of appreciation were also given to Gov. Lacson and members of the NOCPPO Advisory Board led by Pastor Celino Villarete.
As we look to the future, I earnestly hope that NOCPPO will continue to embody the highest standards of excellence and professionalism. Together, we will continue to forge stronger bonds of community partnership, ensuring that Negros Occidental remains a province where peace, order and prosperity are present, Lacson, said in his speech.*
