Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson formally announced yesterday his endorsement of the candidacies of Mark Golez and Isidro Zayco, as mayoral candidates for the cities of Silay and Kabankalan, respectively.
Golez, who was endorsed earlier by Senate deputy majority floor leader JV Ejercito; and Zayco, are both members of Love Negros, the group Lacson is also affiliated with.
Incumbent Mayor Joedith Gallego is eyeing for his second term as mayor of Silay City.
Zayco and former Rep. Genaro Alvarez are vying for the position as mayor of Kabankalan City, running against incumbent Mayor Benjie Miranda.
Lacson also endorsed Bacolod congressional aspirant Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.
The governor also supported the tandem of Isabela mayoral candidate Juan Miguel Montilla and his mother, incumbent Mayor Irene Montilla, who is running for town’s vice mayoral post.
Miguel Angelo Yulo, son of Negros Occidental 5th district Rep. Emilio Bernardino Yulo, is vying for the position as mayor of Isabela.
Lacson also endorsed the reelection bid of Mayor Raymund Tongson in Himamaylan City.*
