Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, national president of the League of Cities of the Philippines, will be the lone representative of all Philippine city mayors at the virtual 4th Asia Leadership Forum, from 2-7 p.m. tomorrow, on the theme “From Principle to Practice: The Pandemic Leadership Essentials”.

Headlining the event are remarkable world leaders as keynote speakers, a press release from the city said.

Leading the list are former United States vice president Michael Pence, former Malaysia prime minister Mahathir Mohamad, and former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark.

Also among the speakers are former Sweden prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, former US Defense secretary Mark Esper, and former World Bank vice president Lawrence Summers, who is also former president of Harvard University.

The invitation was extended by the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines national president and Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo Cua to the ULAP National Executive Board members, where Leonardia is the executive vice president.

As an invited official delegate, the mayor is entitled to a free admission pass to the conference. Interested parties without an official invitation will have to pay $1,000 in registration fee.

The 5-hour forum will run in conjunction with the Asian Leadership Conference 2021, on the theme, “World After Covid: Rebuilding Trust and Cooperation”.

Organized by Chosun Media, ALC brings together world-leading thinkers, decision-makers, and experts to discuss practical cases, lessons, and insights they have drawn from the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

The ALC is the premier international conference of South Korea that provides a platform for global leaders to convene and offer possible solutions to pressing issues in Asia.

The conference will focus on the importance of a leader’s ability to navigate change and disruption, as made clear by the ongoing global pandemic.

Since 2005, world-renowned political leaders, international corporate CEOs, and academic leaders have participated in the assembly.

This year’s ALC will feature over 230 global leaders, including former heads of state, heads of corporations, and thought leaders, the press release added.*
