Following the North and South brackets eliminations, the Provincial Sports Office (PSO) and Abanse Negrense’s Governor’s Cup Inter-LGU 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will continue for semi-finals and the provincial championship on October 8, Saturday at 9 a.m. in Talisay City.
The thirteen LGU teams from the Northern and Southern districts, participating in the 12-under and 14-under categories, are Cadiz City, Talisay City, San Carlos City, Murcia, Manapla, and Escalante for the North District category and for the South district category, participating LGUs include La Carlota City, Himamaylan City, Kabankalan City, Sipalay City, Bago City, Ilog and Valladolid.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and PSO head Anthony Carlo Agustin are expected to grace the event.
Meanwhile, Abanse Negrense’s Boxing at the Park is also set to proceed with its second semi-finals in Silay City on Oct. 8, Saturday at 1 pm. Young and aspiring boxers from La Carlota City, Candoni, Don Salvador Benedicto, Murcia, Bago City, EB Magalona, Escalante City, La Castellana City, Victorias City, and Hinigaran are joining the competition.
Moreover, Abanse Negrense’s Governor’s Cup Football Provincial Championship Tournament will continue its qualifying for the South, North, and Central Negros Brackets on Oct. 8-9 at 8 am. It will follow the 9-a-side with the offside format for under 12 born 2010 boys and the 11-a-side with the offside ruling for under 17 born 2010 boys.
The municipality of Pontevedra is hosting the tournament for the South district category on Oct. 8 and Sagay City will be the host venue for the North district on Oct. 9.
According to the PSO press release, the PSO and Abanse Negrense sports programs are in line with Gov. Lacson’s initiative to promote grassroots sports development all over the province.*
