LGU employee arrested with P10K in shabu

A suspected high-value drug target working as a job order employee for the La Libertad local government unit was arrested during a joint buy-bust operation in Barangay Martilo, La Libertad, Negros Oriental, on Thursday morning.

The suspect, identified by his alias ‘Isyong,’ is a 46-year-old resident of Barangay Pisong apprehended by operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the La Libertad Municipal Police Station.

Authorities seized 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately one gram with a street value of P10,000, along with the P500 marked money, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle used by the suspect.

The operation was a coordinated effort led by the PDEA Regional Office-Negros Island Region alongside local police units.

The suspect is currently detained and faces criminal charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
