Each participating local government unit will now receive a subsidy of half a million pesos for the celebration of the 30th Pana-ad sa Negros Festival, scheduled from April 13 to 19, 2026.
Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II, provincial administrator, confirmed that Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has signed the necessary documents to release the subsidy.
The province increased the subsidy from P400,000 last year to P500,000 this year.
The subsidy aims to assist participants with their expenses during the week-long celebration.
Diaz previously stated that the municipal and city festival dance competitions will be held separately to highlight the diverse cultural celebrations across the province.
The administration is also working to increase engagement from the youth sectors for this year’s event.
The province has partnered with the Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc. (NYLI), a youth-led civil society organization dedicated to mentorship and youth representation, to help involve the younger generation.
Furthermore, the province plans to bring in top performers for the event, with twenty percent of the total funds allocated for local and national performers.
A total of P50 million has been allocated for the celebration, distributed among various committees. Diaz emphasized the importance of careful planning and proper resource management to ensure the festival’s success.*
