Bacolod-based visual artist and licensed professional teacher Arnel Villaceran opened his first solo art exhibition titled “Himulak” at Gallery G at Villa Geronca Building, Rosario Amapola streets, Bacolod City Saturday.
Guests of honor at the opening were Villaceran’s former art professors Antonio “Tony” Tejado and Rosendo “Roy” Aguilar from La Consolacion College-Bacolod (LCC).
“Himulak” or bloom, is a floral themed exhibit which will run for a month.
“In this exhibit, I let you experience my daydreams, illusions, products of imagination, and exploitation of emotions,” Villaceran said in a statement.
The exhibit also showcases very personal works carrying emotions, energy, and promises which significantly reminds people to love what they are doing, he said.
Villaceran, a native of Bantayan, Cebu, is a graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Advertising Arts at La Consolacion Bacolod School of Architecture, Fine Arts and Interior design.
He is a recipient of the Perfecto E. Marazonia Award of BFA-Advertising Arts Batch 2018.
Currently, he is a layout artist and curatorial staff of The Negros Museum. He is also involved in several projects and initiatives of the Negros Cultural Foundation PERFAB (The Performance Laboratory Inc.); National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA); and Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).*
