Art Studio Forty Nine, in partnership with Rockwell, recently staged a group art exhibition for a cause titled “Limitless Expression” at the Nara Residences, Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City.
A portion of the proceeds of the exhibition will go to students with special needs, Art Studio Forty Nine owner Jenevieve Abeto said.
Most children with special needs are victims of social-emotional stress. They are often worried and overwhelmed by school work. Bullying is a common problem they encounter with classmates and friends because they are often misunderstood, she said.
“I believe exposing them to art can help them discover that they can do something outside the box, develop their interest in creation and expression, and display their artworks so that they become confident that their works are appreciated. It also teaches them to be productive,” Abeto said.
“My advocacy is to teach children with special needs to be independent in their craft, help them develop their self-esteem, so they can somehow support themselves and show others that they too have roles in the society,” she added.
The main exhibitors are Shadrach Ezri “A2N” Taño and Nathan Bob Medina.
Supporting exhibitors are Jen Abeto, John Arthur Cooper, Marielle Sophia de la Paz, Dra. Patricia De Guzman, Nicoh Fregil, Joy Gicana, Danielle Lopez, Noel Martinez, Lady Michelle Morancil, Trisha Beatrice Ordas, Lianne Peterson, Khloe Sulboan, Kyle Jashen Sulboan, and Kyrene Junbrielle Sulboan.*
