Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said the decision of judges is final, in response to claims of alleged cheating during the recently concluded 2023 Lin-ay sg Negros pageant held last week.

Alliah Janine Al Rashid of Cauayan was crowned Lin-ay sang Negros at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City on April 21.

Organizers of the pageant released a statement on their Facebook page on Wednesday denying “any cheating and fraudulent activity” during the Lin-ay Sang Negros, amid insinuations coming from some camps.

“I don’t know any of the judges. They are all from out of town. We do not question their credibility,” Lacson said.

Just like any beauty pageant, “not everybody will come out winners. There will always be one winner and there will be losers. We will have to accept the decision of the board of judges,” he stressed.

Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz ordered the taking down of the statement that he said was “not official and unauthorized” by the provincial government.*
