The Pag-IBIG – San Carlos Branch started its Lingkod Pag-Ibig on Wheels (LPOW) program in the city particularly for government employees on July 6 at the City Hall parking area.
Celso Amar, Pag-IBIG San Carlos City branch head, said the LPOW was an initiative of the Pag-IBIG Fund to reach out to its members and provide them immediate assistance according to their needs particularly those affected by calamities and the pandemic.
Amar also said that the LPOW was created to bring their services closer to those from far flung areas especially when strong internet connections are already established so they can provide faster service transactions.
He said he also hopes for barangay officials to get their membership for Pag-IBIG since they will serve as role models to the community.
The San Carlos Branch is the first in Negros to give the LPOW service since it is the closest to Cebu where the LPOW truck came from, he added.
Among the services offered include inquiries and filing of multipurpose loans, housing loans, and provident benefits while also releasing new card, Loyalty Card Plus which is considered a secondary ID with savings account powered by Union Bank for the San Carlos Branch.
The service mostly availed during the activity was Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card that can be processed more or less within 5 to 10 minutes and costs P125.
LPOW was part of the 62nd Charter Day celebration of San Carlos City where City Mayor Renato Gustilo invited Pag-IBIG Fund to give mobile service to the people it has already served the municipalities of Toboso, catering public schools on July 4, and Calatrava, serving 132 government employees on July 5.
Pag-IBIG- SCC Branch is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday at Gaisano – San Carlos.*
