
Over 300 residents of Barangay Katilingban, Talisay City received gifts and healthcare services during a successful medical mission and shoebox gift-giving event on January 12, a press release from Lions Club said.
The initiative, spearheaded by District 301 B1 Region 5 and the Bacolod City Mt. Kanlandog Lions Club, involved several Lions Clubs—Bacolod Traders Club, Lavender Lions Club, Sugarlandia Lions Club, and Katipunan Lions Club—with crucial financial support from the Calgary Lions Club in Canada.
The event, held in partnership with the Talisay City Local Government Unit and Mr. and Mrs. Jhong Javier, benefited individuals from more than five puroks. The Lions Clubs’ comprehensive program included a shoebox gift-giving, vital signs checkups provided by Riverside Lifeline, diabetes screening, eyeglasses distribution, a feeding program, and a plastic waste collection drive.
The combined effort showcased the Lions Clubs’ dedication to community well-being, leaving a lasting positive impact on the lives of Barangay Katilingban residents.
