A live-in couple was arrested by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office after a decisive buy-bust operation in Barangay 8 yielded over half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu on Tuesday evening, January 27.
The suspects were identified as 38-year-old alias ‘Jerv,’ a high-value individual, and his 20-year-old partner alias ‘Tine,’ a street-level individual.
They were apprehended at Purok Narra Baybay after intelligence operatives confirmed they were actively engaged as a pair in the local drug trade.
Following a successful controlled transaction, authorities recovered approximately 85 grams of suspected shabu worth P578,000.
Also recovered were a black sling bag, a light blue coin purse, and the marked buy-bust money.
“Illegal drugs remain a clear and present threat to the safety, health, and well-being of communities, and PRO NIR will continue to act with relentless determination, leaving no room for criminality to thrive,” Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region said in a statement.
The suspects are currently being held at Police Station 2 for documentation and the filing of charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
