A livestock buyer in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, was shot and killed by two unidentified suspects around 1 p.m. on Sunday in Sitio Makilo, Barangay Camansi.
The victim was identified as a 54-year-old businessman given the alias ‘Albert,’ a resident of the area.
Initial police investigation conducted by the Kabankalan City Police Station revealed that the victim was fixing a motorcycle when two unidentified men suddenly arrived and opened fire, hitting him in the head and the right side of his back.
The victim succumbed to his gunshot injuries at the scene, while the suspects reportedly fled immediately after the attack.
Authorities disclosed that, prior to the incident, the victim had received death threats from unknown individuals.
A caliber .45 bullet shell was recovered from the scene, which is believed to be the weapon used in the crime.
The victim’s body will undergo a post-mortem examination, and authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the shooting.*
