Lizares optimistic on Talisay City growth

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Mayor Rowena Lizares leads the opening of 26th Minulu-an Festival on Sept. 6 at the Talisay City public plaza.*

Mayor Rowena Lizares expressed optimism on rapid growth and development in Talisay City in Negros Occidental, because of its potential, as more investors come in.

Lizarez, who is the first woman of Talisay City, cited the entry of the Suntrust Properties, Inc., a Megaworld subsidiary, which is developing an 80-hectare site for housing development.

This is a big help to Talisay City, said Lizares, who opened the 26th Minulu-an Festival on September 6 at the city public plaza.

“I am sure that more commercial investments will come in,” the mayor said.

As Talisay City is enjoying the confidence of investors, Lizares said she wants to ensure the stability of peace and order, in tandem with the Philippine National Police.

To cap the Minulu-an Festival on Sept. 10, singer Bamboo will be live in concert, 9 p.m. at the Talisay City Public Plaza.

Movie actor Enrique Gil, as facilitated by Third District Rep. Javier Miguel Benitez, will also serenade contestants of Ms. Talisay City on Sept. 9.*
