Newly appointed Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Negros Island Regional Director Atty. Gerry Llena is set to enhance regional operations as he announced plans to establish a mobile office.
During a recent interview, the former Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Negros Occidental Chapter president emphasized that the initiative aims to ease the burden on drivers and operators who find it difficult to travel for document processing.
He acknowledged that while the logistics of a mobile unit presents challenges, his primary focus remains on decentralizing the agency’s reach to ensure no stakeholder is left behind.
Meanwhile, Bacolod Alliance of Commuters and Drivers Inc. President Rudy Cathedral expressed his support to Llena’s proposal, noting that it would ease the burdens of the stakeholders by removing the need to travel in Dumaguete.
Llena said that while the law mandates Dumaguete City as the Central Office, the mobile office will allow them to be accessible ‘everywhere and anywhere.’
“I am not going to try, I am going to push,” he said regarding his proposal.
Beyond accessibility, Llena also vowed to prioritize the safety of the riding public and maintain open communication lines with all transport sectors.
The Regional Director pledged to uphold the same integrity that defined his legal career, viewing his new role as a unique opportunity for dedicated public service.
He anchored his commitment to his personal mantra, ‘serviam,’ which he said reflects his deep-seated desire to serve the people. Llena took his oath before Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on February 6.*
