The Land Transportation Office – Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) launched an investigation into an incident involving an employee at its Himamaylan District Office and a vlogger-client, following concerns circulating on social media.
LTO-NIR said the employee, who was assigned to the releasing window, has been temporarily relieved from the post and has been reassigned to a different office.
The vlogger added that the matter has been settled after she went to the LTO office yesterday, where the employee issued an apology.
The issue stemmed after the client complained on social media that the employee raised her voice at her after asking why there are no contact persons at the back of her driver’s license.
‘When you talk to someone, do it properly. If you’re tired, don’t take it out on other people. […] I just don’t want others who come there to experience what I went through. Waiting for eight hours only for this to happen,” the vlogger said in a social media post.
In a statement, the agency said the concerned employee has been directed to submit a written explanation regarding the matter and is currently gathering facts and evaluating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“LTO-NIR assures the public that the matter will be handled fairly and in accordance with existing laws, rules, and regulations,” the agency stated.
“Should the investigation yield sufficient and credible evidence establishing administrative liability, appropriate disciplinary action will be imposed,” it added.*
