Contingent Number 7 – composed of clustered Barangays Paniabonan, Abis, Bato, and Bulibulihan in Mabinay, Negros Oriental, was declared the champion in this year’s Langub Festival.
It bested seven other contingents during the street and showdown competition at the Municipality of Mabinay on January 24.
The winner received the championship trophy and P100,000 in cash prize. It also bagged several minor awards including Best in Showdown, Best in Identification Arch, Best in Choreography, Best Choreographer, and Best in Drum Corps.
Contingent No. 8 -composed of clustered Barangays Poblacion, Inapoy, Old Namangka, and New Namangka, was first runner-up, receiving a trophy and P75,000 in cash prize. It also bagged the Best in Street Dancing and Best in Costume as minor awards.


Contingent No.3 -composed of Clustered Barangays Lumbangan, Bugnay, Tadlong, and Luyang, was second runner-up and received P50,000 in cash prize and trophy.
Mabinay Municipal Mayor Ernie Uy, together with municipal officials, awarded the prizes to the winners. Vice Mayor Joeterry Uy was this year’s Fiesta Director. Also present at the event as guest of honor was Cavite Congresswoman Lani Mercado-Revilla.
This year’s fiesta theme is “Embracing Sustainability in Harmony with our Culture and Traditions.”*
