Mabuhay Accommodation Alliance elects first set of officers

The Bacolod City Tourism Development Office, under the leadership of Chief Tourism Operations Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili, facilitated the second alliance meeting of Mabuhay Accommodation Establishments and the formal election of officers of the Mabuhay Accommodation Alliance on July 16, at the Royal Am Rei Hotel in Bacolod City.

The newly elected officers are Angelo Lizares of Maharlika City Inn – president, Rafael Palmado (Royal Am Rei) – vice president, Edelyn Yap (Check Inn Corporation) – secretary, Angelica Bantug  (Bantug Lake Ranch) – treasurer, while members of the board are Sharon Yanong (Saltimboca Tourist Inn) – marketing and promotions, Ailen Bayle (Bayle Camping Ground) – logistics and operations, Edelynn Herera (Nato’s Farm) – media relations.

The formation of the alliance marks a key milestone in empowering Mabuhay accommodation establishments, such as inns, pension houses, transient homes and bed-and-breakfasts, as vital contributors to Bacolod’s tourism landscape.

“This alliance would not have been possible without your guidance, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to elevating Bacolod’s tourism industry,” said Lizares, newly elected president. “We sincerely thank the Bacolod City Tourism Office for recognizing our sector and giving us a platform to be heard. We look forward to working closely with you in promoting sustainable tourism and inclusive growth for all players in the hospitality sector.”

The Bacolod City Tourism Office has continuously worked to strengthen collaboration among tourism stakeholders. Last April 30, the office also successfully organized the Bacolod Hotel Alliance, composed of hotels in the city. Both alliances are part of the city’s broader effort to build an inclusive and coordinated tourism sector in preparation for increased tourist arrivals and major events in Bacolod.

Moving forward, the City Tourism Office plans to convene and organize alliances for restaurant operators and tourist transport groups, ensuring all tourism sectors are engaged and equipped to deliver an exceptional visitor experience. These alliances form the backbone of Bacolod’s growing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (M.I.C.E.) initiatives.

The formation of the Mabuhay Accommodation Alliance reflects Bacolod’s commitment to a unified, inclusive and sustainable tourism industry, one that supports local entrepreneurs and enhances the city’s readiness as a premier destination for both leisure and business.*
