Magikland, an outdoor theme park in Silay City, Negros Occidental, re-opened Saturday with strict health protocols after it shut down for eight months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hundreds of guests trooped to Magikland, as early as 2 p.m. Saturday, to enjoy the rides, games and performers at the park.
Magikland Human Resource officer Charrie Tinsay said they are authorized by the city government of Silay to accommodate 1,500 guests, out of the 4,000 guest capacity, in line with the COVID-19 health protocols.
The theme park caters to guests only during Saturdays and Sundays, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting Nov. 14 to 30. It will be closed from Monday to Friday.
From Dec. 1 to 17, Tinsay said the theme park will be opened Fridays to Sundays, and every day from Dec. 18 to Jan. 1 next year.
Under the Magikland’s “Balik Saya” promo, the park entrance is P150 per person from P280 previously, and P520 per person for entrance and unlimited rides.
The Silay Kansilay dancers performed during the Magikland reopening Saturday, while the MassKara dancers of Bacolod City entertained the visitors yesterday.
Tinsay said the Magikland management has further enhanced the safety protocols inside the 5-hectare theme park, with all rides regularly being disinfected, guests required to wear face masks all the time, presence of washing areas in strategic places, as well as signing of health declarations.
Rides and buying of food in the theme park are being done through cashless transactions, she added.*GPB
