The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that a magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck near Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental at 3:37pm Tuesday afternoon.
The epicenter of the quake was recorded two kilometers northeast of Hinoba-an town in Negros Occidental, with a depth of 18 kilometers.
An intensity 4 earthquake also hit neighboring Sipalay City, which occurred at the same time, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
PHIVOLCS also recorded intensity I felt in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental and Intensity III in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.
However, no aftershocks or damage was recorded.*
