Defending champion contingent no.11, composed of Barangays 6-A and 21, was hailed this year’s overall champion after besting 12 other participants in the Malihaw Festival Street Dance and Arena competition on Saturday.
The group also bagged several special awards including Best in Production Design, Best in Interpretation, Best in Costume Design, Best in Carroza, Most Disciplined, and first place in Best in Street Dance. It received a championship trophy and P150,000 in cash prize.
Contingent no.13 composed of Barangays 2 and 6 was declared first runner-up. It also took home the Best in Choreography and was adjudged 3rd place in Best in Street Dance. The group received a trophy and P120,000 in cash prize.


Contingent no.7 composed of Barangays 15 and 15-A bagged the second runner-up and received a trophy and P100,000 in cash prize.
Meanwhile contingent no. 5 composed of Barangays 18 and 18-A, won second place for Best in Street Dance.
Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez presented the trophies and cash awards to the winners during the awarding ceremony.
The Malihaw Festival is being celebrated every April 26 in honor of Victorias City’s patron saint, Nuestra Señora de las Victorias.*
