Unidentified suspects reportedly abducted a person yesterday identified by the police as Johnson Ciervo Garfil at Purok Margarita in Brgy. Abuanan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

The 32-year-old victim, who is a resident of Brgy. Ara-al, La Carlota City, was riding a motorcycle when he was kidnapped by still unidentified perpetrators.

Initial police investigations show that two of the suspects, who were separately riding in motorcycles, overtook the motorcycle driven by the victim before he was brought to a white Toyota Innova van, which fled in a western direction.

Policemen who responded to the abduction case recovered the motorcycle, helmet, watch and shoes of the victim at the scene of incident.

On the other hand, a farmer identified as Ricardo Ewayan, alias Dodong, was shot and killed also by an unidentified gunman on January 17 in Sitio Bingig, Brgy. III, Himamaylan City.

Ewayan, according to the police, was harvesting rice, when he was shot several times by the suspect.

The victim, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, was declared dead on arrival at the Himamaylan City Health Office.*
