Man caught stealing electrical wires at Bacolod City gov’t center

A man was apprehended in the act of allegedly stealing electrical cables at the Annex Building of the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday morning.

The suspect was identified as alias ‘Anthony,’ a resident of Sitio Lucasan, Barangay Abuanan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

The suspect was caught by a Public Order and Safety Office personnel suspect pulling electrical wires from the building’s structure, who was then intercepted.

A report from Bacolod City Police Office Station 4, confirmed that the suspect was subsequently endorsed to their station.

Authorities recovered two meters of electric wiring and a backpack from the scene.

Police revealed that the suspect has a prior record for theft within the jurisdictions of Police Stations 6, 7, and 8.

While the suspect had previously been released from custody due to a lack of complainants.

Secretary to the mayor Atty. Jose Marty Go said that the city government is now preparing the case, expected to be filed today, March 21, via an inquest.*
