A 34-year-old man was gunned down by two unidentified gunmen at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Purok Sab-a, Barangay Montilla, Moises Padilla town, Negros Occidental.
Initial investigation by the Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station revealed that the victim was riding his motorcycle from Sitio Haroy, Barangay Montilla, when the two suspects allegedly called his attention.
The victim dismounted from his motorcycle and approached the suspects, after which one of them suddenly shot the victim, hitting his right arm and right armpit. The suspects immediately fled the crime scene after the incident.
The victim succumbed to the gunshot wounds.
Further investigation disclosed that on November 10, 2025, the victim was allegedly threatened by one of his neighbors in connection with a land dispute.
Law enforcers are also conducting investigations into the case to determine if it is insurgency-related.*
