A man was killed following a stabbing incident at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, on the night of April 28.
The victim, identified as John Rey Abantolinao of Purok Magsungay, died from stab wounds to his neck, abdomen, arms, head, and back.
The suspect, identified by the alias Timmy, a resident of Barangay 16, was apprehended shortly after the incident, through a hot pursuit operation conducted by Police Station 8.
Bacolod City Police Office Officer-in-charge PCol. Eugene Rebadomia stated that the motive for the killing was a personal feud.
Reports said the confrontation began when John Rey approached the suspect while the latter was waiting to pick up a woman in the area.
The said woman is the former live-in partner of the victim and the current partner of the suspect.
Witnesses reported that a commotion ensued, leading to a chase where the victim tripped and fell.
The suspect then allegedly stabbed the victim several times while he was on the ground.
The suspect is currently held at the custodial facility of Police Station 8 and is expected to face homicide charges.*
