A 38-year-old man was killed in a gun attack along Palanca Road in Barangay 14, Bacolod City, at approximately 9:10 p.m. yesterday.
Police identified the victim was identified as Jonel Besaña a resident of Purok Talaba, Magsungay, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
Initial investigation by Police Station 1 indicated that the victim was on his way to fetch his wife, an employee at a nearby mall, when an unidentified suspect shot at him.
The suspect, described as wearing a red shirt, denim pants, and a black cap, fled the scene on a black scooter toward a northerly direction.
The victim was transported by responders to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
At the scene, investigators recovered the victim’s black Honda motorcycle and one fired shell of a firearm of unknown caliber.
Police Station 1 Commander Capt. Efren Legada said the family described the victim as a kind person with no known enemies or vices.*
