A 26-year-old married male was killed after being stabbed by his brother-in-law during a heated argument inside their residence at Purok Riverside, Sitio San Jose, Barangay Salong in Kabankalan City, early Saturday morning.
Based on the initial investigation by Kabankalan City Police Station, the two were in the middle of an altercation, and during the confrontation, the suspect allegedly seized a kitchen knife and stabbed his brother-in-law multiple times in the different parts of the body.
The victim was identified as Lloyd Bryan Roca, a laborer and a resident of the place. He was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
After the incident, the weapon used by the suspect, an 11-inch-long kitchen knife, was recovered, the police said.
Meanwhile, the suspect, identified as Antonio Apatan, a 33-year-old jobless man, voluntarily surrendered to the officials of Barangay Salong and was eventually brought to the custody of Kabankalan City Police Station.
MOISES PADILLA
A stabbing incident occurred in Moises Padilla at Sitio Tresden, Barangay Inolingan, at around 11 o’clock in the morning of Saturday.
The victim, alias Rolen, a 23-year-old male, was having a drinking session with his father and a friend when the suspect allegedly arrived, armed with a bladed weapon, and without any apparent reason, stabbed the victim once on the back portion of his body.
The victim was rushed to the hospital by his father, while the suspect, identified as an alias Warren, fled the crime scene after the incident, police said.
A pursuit operation was conducted by the Moises Padilla MPS for the possible arrest of the suspect.
BACOLOD CITY
A 46-year-old jeepney driver suffered a wound on the lip after a passenger threw a rock at him in Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan.
The victim, Sebastian Tuazon, said that the incident occurred after a passenger demanded change from his P100 payment but Tuazon answered that it was the dispatcher who collects the fare and provides change.
According to the driver, the passenger insulted him and when they arrived at the said barangay, the passenger got off the jeep, where he was met by two individuals holding a handful of sand and a knife.
They attempted to attack Tuazon, who was able to take the knife and dodge the sand thrown at him, but unfortunately, he was not able to avoid the rock.
Tuazon was brought to Handumanan Barangay Hall and will be pressing charges against the suspect.*
