The Mangkas Group of Artists (MGA) recently held a three-day art exhibition, “CONQUEST,” at the upscale Forbes Hill by Megaworld, marking a major highlight for National Arts Month in the city, on February 27.
The opening ceremony blended spirituality with performance art, beginning with an opening prayer by Maria Nelma Amihan, a missionary serving at the Myanmar-Thailand border. Niña Loureen Navarro, secretary of MGA, set the tone for the showcase by reading “A Story of Conquest,” the group’s official exhibit write-up detailing their collective creative journey.
In his presidential address, Redmond Nazareno emphasized the group’s resilience and vision, followed by a message of support from Reina Jamaica Jimenea, senior sales manager of Megaworld Bacolod, who highlighted the importance of providing a platform for local talent.
The event took a traditional turn with a symbolic opening ritual led by Zaldy Flores Jr., accompanied by a collaborative musical performance featuring James Estimada, Red Nazareno, Martin Mariño, and Zam Denise Gantala.
The exhibition was opened through a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Nazareno, alongside the guest of honor Lordgeline Alpers, and Megaworld officials.*
