The Mangkas Group of Artists concluded its successful week-long exhibition entitled “Dungog Sang Mangkas Uno” recently, in conjunction with the La Carlota City Tourism week celebration headed by City Tourism officer Karen Aguirre.
The exhibition, which was spearheaded by Redmond Nazareno and curated by Niña Loureen Navarro, was more than just an art show, but a celebration of diverse local talents, showcasing the artists’ works from sculpture, painting, arts and crafts, and live performing arts, witnessing the power of art and a symbol of the city’s commitment to cultural development.
The LGU’s commitment to promoting local arts and culture was evident in the presence of key officials including the City Mayor Rex Jalandoon, City Mayor Executive-Assistant Mark Threx Rojo, City Councilors Baste Benedicto and Stephen Simbit, and Brgy 2 kagawad Kano Zamora.
The City Tourism Office also conducted an art-talk and workshop led by the distinguished artist of Mangkasanon Redmond Nazareno, artist-assistants Adrianne Cagalawan and Zaldy Flores, and was attended by students coming from different schools in La Carlota City.
The group exhibition’s success will continue to inspire artists and art enthusiasts alike, leaving a lasting mark on the city’s cultural landscape.*
