The Group of Negrense of Artists (GONA) opened a group exhibit at the Artillery Philippines – Bacolod yesterday, in line with the celebration of the MassKara Festival in Bacolod City.
Titled “Many Faces”, the show will run from October 2 to 31. It features the works of GONA members Yuna Acot, Annalyn Trespecio, Xavier Italia, Dynalyn Tan, Hanz Martin Javier, Zion Gabe Quiamco, Cindy Quiamco, Patricia Larayos, Fatricia Barrocamo, Krizzialee Becaros, Rose Jemino, Francis “Boy” Alacapa, Arvin Belicano, Junie de la Cruz, Mei Lonasco, and GONA president GilJohn Quiamco.
GilJohn Quiamco said they came up with an exhibit which they could connect to the MassKara Festival and the resilience of the Negrenses.
Behind “Many Faces” is a story of the Don Juan tragedy and the sugar crisis which affected the province of Negros. This was the story behind the now world renowned MassKara Festival.*
