As the holiday season draws near, the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara once again brought joy and laughter to children through its annual Pamaskua Sa Bata gift-giving celebration — now on its 18th year.
Held recently at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City, the festive gathering welcomed nearly 80 children from the club’s adopted Villa Gracia Day Care Center. The youngsters delighted in a lively morning of singing, dancing, games, a hearty meal, and the much-anticipated arrival of Santa Claus, who handed out gifts and spread cheer.
“Christmas is an opportunity for Rotarians to share our blessings. As we bless others, we too are blessed. Our Pamaskua Sa Bata, now in its 18th year, continues to inspire kindness and reminds us of the joy of giving,” said Club President April Kitagawa.
She expressed gratitude to club members and Rotoractors whose dedication ensured the children experienced a truly memorable holiday celebration.
Villa Gracia Day Care Center teacher Melonie Sabran also shared her appreciation: “It was a real treat to see Santa, and such a special experience for the children. Moments like these remind us how magical the season can be.”
Beyond Pamaskua Sa Bata, the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara remains active throughout the year with community outreach programs including medical missions, coastal clean-ups, feeding initiatives, school supply distribution, computer literacy projects, mangrove planting and eco-tourism support.*
