The Oton Branch of Marayo Bank Inc. (A Rural Bank) recently inaugurated its newly constructed building at Mabini Street, Poblacion West, Oton, Iloilo.
The blessing ceremony was officiated by Rev. Fr. John Paul Paderan, SDP. The event was attended by Oton Vice Mayor Jose Neil Olivares; Eva Mae De La Cruz, area manager of Marayo Bank Inc.; Abegail Sardon, acting compliance officer of Marayo Bank Inc.; Angelica Linsey, branch manager of Marayo Bank Oton Branch; Roel Burgos, BPLO head of LGU Oton; other local officials, association presidents, other bank representatives, PNP uniformed personnel, businessmen, and bank clients.
The inauguration of the new building is part of Marayo Bank’s program of enhancing its reputation of delivering fast and efficient services to the people in the communities where the bank has its presence, particularly to the unserved population in rural areas, the press release said.
Its Oton Branch serves the whole of southern Iloilo, Iloilo City and Antique province. In addition, Marayo Bank serves the provinces of Iloilo and Capiz with its banking units in Banate, Sara, and Passi City.
In the last 10 years, Marayo Bank registered rapid growth in terms of profitability and resources, except during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its financial ratios, such as return on capital, return on assets, and capital adequacy ratio, which are benchmarks used by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in measuring the capitalization and financial stability of the banks, are much better than the overall industry standards for universal banks, commercial banks, and rural banks.
Marayo Bank has more branches and branch-lite units located in Negros Occidental, particularly in San Carlos City, Cadiz City, E.B. Magalona, Bacolod City, Pontevedra, Binalbagan, Kabankalan City, and Hinoba-an. Also, it has a newly opened branch in the municipality of Dauin, Negros Oriental. The bank now has a total of 14 banking units all over Western Visayas and in Negros Oriental.
