A marijuana plantation was discovered and raided on Tuesday by the police in Sitio Bedio, Brgy. Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Seized at the plantation were 132 fully grown marijuana plants, estimated at 20 kilos.

The joint operation of the San Carlos City Police Station, troopers of the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, and 605th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and Maritime Group, resulted in the arrest of two suspected marijuana cultivators, farmer residents of the barangay.

Also recovered from the two suspects were an Armscor caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing three ammunition, a black sling bag, and a shovel.

In a report of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, the operating police units were withdrawing from the marijuana plantation when they saw the two suspects cultivating marijuana plants in the area.

Meanwhile, the apprehension of a 41-year-old tricycle driver during a buy bust operation, also on May 14, in Brgy. Nanunga, Hinigaran, led to the recovery of about 30 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P204,000 and a caliber 38 revolver with four live ammunition, police said.

The police also recovered about three grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P20,400 from an arrested drug suspect at Taytay Malogo in Brgy. 13, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.*
