Policemen yesterday discovered and uprooted marijuana plants at Purok Catugasan in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The joint operations of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Murcia police, also led to the arrest of a suspected marijuana cultivator identified as Khieno Rubaton, 34, of the place.

Policemen uprooted 14 marijuana plants and seized a nylon bag containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, estimated at 125 grams, with a market value of P6,250, as well as farm equipment.

On the other hand, a buy bust operation on Tuesday at Hacienda Loreto in Brgy. 13, Victorias City, led to the arrest of a drug suspect identified by the police as Ernesto Togores.

The apprehension of Togores, 26, led to the confiscation of about five grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P34,000, marked money of P500, a cellular phone, and P24 in cash.*
