The Party House 80s held its 2nd Masskara 80s Festival at The Upper East Megaworld on October 22, holding a party for people who love the 80s genre and those who were partying in discotheques and house parties where lights and sounds were set up by their own high school DJs.
It remembered a time when electronics were not yet sophisticated and computer videos were not the medium of entertainment. The people who enjoyed this event and looked forward to it as it was a venue for reunion of friends from their younger days, getting to meet high school friends they have not seen for quite some time.
The event was the concept of the Founder of the Party House 80s, GJ Gatuslao, essentially a reunion of different Bacolod schools to gather and have fun listening and dancing to 70s, 80s, and 90s music.
It was usually well attended by alumni from University of St. La Salle Integrated School, St. Scholastica’s Academy, St. John’s Institute, St. Joseph School, and other schools.
This year the party house hit off with The 2nd Masskara 80s Festival and The Latin Jazz Fest, and it was packed with people who came to see the Bossanova Queen Sitti Navarro Ramirez, Joseph Aranza of Sabor Latino, DJ LV Lim of Royal Club, legends DJ White Nicky Puentevella and DJ Rommel Sancho, and the Eastline band of Oying Osmeña.
The Party House Aims to continue the holding event every Masskara festival with the support of the city government and Yuhum Foundation and continue its charitable works to different foundations and institutions that need financial assistance through its proceeds from the events.
It found humble beginnings as a FB page during COVID-19 pandemic and was blessed to continue helping the less fortunate through its love for 80s music.
