Led by Grandmaster Jayson Gonzales, Chief Executive Officer of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines and President of Bacolod Chessplayers Association and Kagawad Rudy Toledo, NCFP Coordinator for Visayas, sportswriter/radio commentator NM Marlon Bernardino and other officials from Bacolod City, they visited the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Friday regarding the staging of the 1st MassKara Festival National Inter Provinces, Cities and Municipalities Chess Team Championship to be held on October 13, 14 and 15 in Bacolod City.
The chess tournament will be lined-up as one of the sports events of the upcoming MassKara Festival Celebration and is supported by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez of Bacolod City.
The participation of local government units and the cream of crop of chess players in the country is expected.*
