Bacolod, dubbed the “City of Smiles,” welcomes October with a blast.

Starting October from 1 to 23, the MassKara Festival will rock Negros island and unfold its mesmerizing and entertaining display of vibrant, eclectic and energetic events, its organizer said in a statement.

It said that the local government of Bacolod City, led by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez and Bacolod Yuhom Foundation founded by Festival Director, Atty. Pinky Mirano-Ocampo, have prepared one of a kind of activities that have not been experienced in the evolution of the MassKara festival.

The three-week long celebration is dubbed “the grandest ever” because it will not only showcase dance parades, but will also test endurance and athleticism of sports teams from different regions that will be competing in a MassKara Olympics.

Moreso, it added that flexing of muscles will be challenged in “Gods of Bods,” a body building competition, LBTQ events and Ms. Bacolod MassKara, among others.

The theme of this year’s festival “Balik Yuhom,” aims to remind and inspire everyone that despite the complexities in life, especially during the height of pandemic, we should work and unite together in bringing back those, radiant and iconic smiles that made MassKara Festival in so many ways.

The MassKara Festival is expected by organizers to captivate the world, bringing tens of thousands of local and foreign tourists who will experience not only the grandest, but the most momentous festival in the island.*
