Big names from the world of entertainment, politics and society will be gracing the highlights of this year’s 43rd MassKara Festival.

No less than President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and son, Vinny Marcos, along with Vice-President Sara Duterte, plus a host of political stalwarts, top stars and celebrities will be at the MassKara Arena for the Street Dance competition this weekend.

Bacolod Mayor Albee Benitez and National Honorary Chairman of the MassKara Festival, Jojie Dingcong, were instrumental in bringing in the A-list celebrities that will surely put the festival on the map again, after missing out in the last two years due to the pandemic.

Dingcong, a native of Bacolod, was all praises for Benitez whom he called, “a maverick workasonic who is doing everything he can to make sure that the MassKara Festival gains prominence and Bacolod becomes a bastion of development in the Visayas.”

Dingcong is also spearheading the MassKarade Ball, a charity event that will be attended by the First Lady on Friday, October 21, at the SMX Convention Center in SM City Bacolod.

Some of the big celebrities that will provide much luster to the festival include Derek Ramsay, Ellen Adarna, Pops Fernandez, Korina Sanchez-Roxas, Vicki Belo, Scarlet Snow Belo, Hayden Kho, Puey Quiñones, Tim Yap, and Tessa-Prieto Valdes.

Also expected to grace the festival are top Megaworld taipan Kevin Tan and wife Michelle, philanthropists and high society staples like Maricris Zobel, Doody Tuason, Carla Tengco, Karen Santos, financial guru Andrew Gan, Bibot Nolan, Dr. Glenn Carandang and many more.

Along with his “passionate volunteers,” Ginnette Yanson-Dumancas, Chole Cuenca-Chua, Jeannette Yulo-Gonzaga, Gingin Locsin and Margrey Sy, Dingcong said the MassKarade Ball will surely become a talk-of-the-town event for this festival.

You add to that the team of Festival Director, Pinky Mirano-Ocampo and a village of highly successful trailblazing event organizers like Kuster Cadagat, Jericho Redil, Kayte Matiling, Ryan Saez, Rodney Ascalon and so many others will ensure the success of these events, he added.

Tickets for the MassKarade Ball, at P3,000 each, are still available at the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation office. This charity event will benefit Operation Smile which will have its screening of patients on October 21 at the Robinson’s Place Bacolod.*
