The Bacolod City Public Plaza lit up with elegance and pride as 10 candidates from different barangays competed in the first-ever Lola Dear Pageant 2025, one of the newest highlights of the MassKara Festival.
After three segments – Production Number, Talent Competition, and Filipiniana Showcase – 63-year-old Maria Diana De Leon of Barangay Handumanan was crowned the inaugural Lola Dear Queen 2025 to loud cheers from the crowd.
The runners-up were Cecilia De La Cruz of Brgy. Sum-ag (4th runner-Up), Criselda Gasendo of Brgy. 16 (3rd runner-Up), Magdalena Vargas of Brgy. Tangub (2nd runner-Up), and Adelaida Trencio of Brgy. Pahanocoy (1st runner-Up).
Special awards went to Vargas (Best in Production Number), Lilia Cahcila of Brgy. Banago (Best in Talent), and Trencio (Best in Filipiniana).
Festival Director Rodney Ascalon thanked Bacolod’s senior citizen groups for supporting the event, describing the pageant as a meaningful way to honor the “talent, wisdom, and timeless charm” of the city’s lolas.*
