Get a glimpse of the 15 candidates for this year’s Miss Bacolod MassKara, in their first official public and press presentation on October 1, at the Atrium of SM City Bacolod.
The 15 candidates who will have their official sashing ceremony are Georgette Ysabelle Millan, Therese Pira-an, Tracy Mae Sunio, Marianel Tan, Geralyn Joy Basto, Allona Nejar, Jada Biaxyl Celeste, Janine Cabrillos, Cailah Jhane Delarma, Elli Rose Elola, Rose Mariel Sansing, Kyle Santillan, Ma. Ericka Panganiban, Crizwin Claire Española, and Yvonne Catamco.
As the candidates are presented, a short interview with members of the press will take place and the media will then be asked to choose among the candidates that impressed them best.
The final candidates were selected from a rigorous screening process, after which the chosen ladies were invited to attend a 3-day beauty boot-camp that will help them prepare for their pageant journey, and were each given P80,000 as subsidy.
Among the mentors for this year’s candidates included Miss Bacolod MassKara International, Jan Marie Bordon, along with other beauty queens, Billie Hakenson, who trained them on Pasarela, and Riana Pangindian, who conducted fitness training. Hakenson was 4th runner-up in the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 while Pangindian was 1st Princess in the Miss World Philippines 2021 pageant.
A workshop also taught them Basic Modeling, conducted by Yeoh Egwaras, a Q&A Workshop by Pipo Gonzales, and Personality Development & Wardrobe and Styling with Mikee Andrei, all of Aces and Queens, the company that has produced many beauty titlists in the country.
The last day of the workshop also included handlers and makeup artists of the candidates, who participated in a Masterclass with Raymond Galang, the head makeup artist of Aces and Queens, and Jim Ryan Ros, hair stylist of Aces and Queens and owner of Culture Salon Manila.
On October 11, the candidates will have their Festival Costume and Talent Competition at Ayala Malls Capitol Central while on October 13, they will be back in SM City Bacolod for the Corporate Day celebration.
The Coronation Night will be on October 16 at the USLS Coliseum where big names, celebrities, and former beauty queens are expected to attend.*
