Three hundred fifty four out 547 food kiosks and corporate booths at four festival sites were already sold out two weeks before the 45th Masskara Festival 2024 this October, a press release from the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation (BYF) said.
“Definitely an indication of the constant massive support from our business sector especially from our local establishments joining this year’s celebration,” said Kuster Cadagat, Secretary and Festival Director for Cultural and Accredited Events.
The Bacolod Yuhum Foundation has reported an overwhelming demand for kiosks this year, as vendors, food stalls, and businesses prepare to showcase a wider array of delicacies, crafts, and festival merchandise that will be offered to thousands of tourists.
The foundation provided a much larger space for concessionaires, extending each kiosks’ area to a dimension of 10×10 feet.
A total of 127 food kiosks and 11 corporate booths were sold at the Bacolod Public Plaza for October 12 to 27, while 137 kiosks including 13 booths, will be occupied by tenants at the Bacolod City Government Center in the same period.
Fifty-three out of 134 kiosks were already paid for by concessionaires who will operate at the Lacson Strip on October 25 to 27, while 57 booths and stalls were sold at Megaworld’s The Upper East for October 23 to 27.
Coordination and orientation meetings with kiosks and corporate booth owners have been initiated along with members of the Inter-agency Committee to ensure food safety and security at the festival sites.
“We prepared more events at each of the four festival sites to ensure our local businesses will thrive during the celebration,” Cadagat added.
More than 30 performers along with celebrities are expected to add more fun to the city’s grandest celebration.
“We are expecting a bigger event this year and we are delighted to see such strong support from the community. More kiosks were sold already, but we are still open to those who are interested,” he further explained.
He expects to have a “sold out” status of kiosks and booths by the end of September.
The MassKara Festival 2024, which is set to take place from October 11 to 27, promises an immersive and festive experience for all, featuring street dances, concerts, and cultural events.*
