The excitement for the 46th MassKara Festival ramped up yesterday as the seven elementary school contingents showcased their official masks and elaborate costumes at SM City Bacolod.
The event gave the public a colorful sneak peek at the artistry expected in the upcoming Arena and Streetdance Competition.
“It’s been five years since the hiatus of the school category and we can see the excitement of our students from the seven districts,” Chairman of the Committee on Tourism Councilor Jason Villarosa said.
Participants that featured their ensembles included Rodolfo A. Medel Sr. Elementary School, Rizal Elementary School, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School II, Asuncion L. Lizares Elementary School, Estefania Elementary School, Education and Training Center School I, and Paglaum Village Elementary School.
The unveiling is 30 percent of the final lead-up to the main dance showdown, while the remaining 40 and 30 percent will be judged based on their performance on street and arena dance, respectively.
Winners of the Mask and Costume competition will be officially announced on October 18 at the Bacolod Public Plaza.*
