The Bacolod Yuhum Foundation completed the distribution of prizes to the winners of the Float Parade, Electroika Diva, and Street Dance and Arena Competition, along with several special awards of the recently concluded MassKara Festival competitions as of yesterday, a press release from BYF said.
BYF Secretary and Festival Director for Cultural and Accredited Events Kuster Cadagat admitted that the Foundation faced a slight delay in the releasing of prizes due to the processing of sponsorship funds.
“We faced a temporary setback while waiting for the funds to be transferred to the Foundation, but we are now ready to release the prizes to all the winners,” Cadagat explained.
Barangay 29, the champion in the Float Parade, received P300,000; Barangay Pahanocoy (1st runner-up) – P200,000; Barangay 17 (2nd runner-up – P150,000;
Elektroika Diva winners: Barangay 39 (champion) – P75,000; Barangay 29 (1st runner-up) – P30,000; Barangay Pahanocoy (2nd runner-up) – P20,000;
Street Dance and Arena Parade winners: Barangay Granada (champion) P1,000,000; Barangay Bata (1st Runner-Up) – P500,000; Barangay 12 (2nd runner-up) – P300,000;
Special Awards: Best in Theme/Concept: Barangay Granada – P25,000; Best in Music: Barangay Granada – P25,000; Best in Headdress and Costume: Barangay Granada – P25,000; Bacolod Yuhum Choice Award: Barangay Granada – P15,000; Pillar of Dance Excellence: Segundo Jesus “Panoy” Cabalcar – P 10,000.
The 2024 MassKara Festival started on October 11 with a Grand Countdown Salubong and concluded on October 27 with the Street Dance and Arena Competition.*
