Curfew in Bacolod City was back to 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting last night until September 15.
The resetting of Bacolod’s curfew two hours later than the previous 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. is contained in Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s Executive Order No. 57, Series of 2020, placing Bacolod under General Community Quarantine from September 1 to 30.
The mayor said he moved the start of the curfew back to 10 p.m. to allow employees enough time to commute home after work without having to crowd public transport terminals and city streets to get rides home that would violate social distancing rules.
Curfew beyond September 15 will be subject to evaluation and adjustment as circumstances may warrant, he said.
The mayor also partially lifted the ban on the selling of liquor. Selling liquor is allowed from noon to 6 p.m., subject to the strict observance of social distancing and other mandatory health protocols, he said.
The consumption of alcoholic beverages, however, will be allowed only within private residences, he said.
Drinking beyond the premises of the house, along alleys and sidewalks, and in any public place, such as, but not limited to, restaurants, bars, convenience stores, and sari-sari stores, is prohibited, he added.
Any person, entity, or establishment found to be in violation of the provisions of this EO will be meted sanctions, including the filing of charges, he said.*
