Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez yesterday warned “Akyat Bahay” suspects and those who may want to take advantage of the MassKara Festival, not to pursue their evil intentions.
Benitez said they will be apprehended since the police has created a task force that will go after Akyat Bahay members and hold-uppers in Bacolod City. In fact, they have already apprehended some and turned them over to the proper authorities.
The Philippine National Police Regional Office is also sending about 1,048 police personnel as an augmentation force to provide security during the MassKara Festival celebration, he said.
The police had earlier arrested a notorious Akyat Bahay suspect during a buy-bust operation at Purok Ilaya, Brgy. Cabug Friday.
About P10,200 worth of suspected shabu was recovered by the police from Edric Pasustento Namol, 23, who had been previously arrested for various illegal activities when he was still a minor.*
