Property giant Megaworld is fast tracking the construction of other components, such as BPO facilities (Business Process Outsourcing) at The Upper East township in Bacolod City, in anticipation of the opening of 2 Regis and Landers Superstore next year, according to Vice President and head of Public Relations and Media Affairs Harold Brian Geronimo.

Geronimo, who toured Bacolod-based reporters at Bonifacio Global Landers Uptown in Taguig City, also reported that many occupants of 1 Regis are now raring to transfer to their condominium areas, with the opening of The Upper East park and the McDonald’s store next month.

Landers Superstore, the fastest-growing membership shopping store in the country, is targeted to open March next year inside Megaworld’s The Upper East township in Bacolod City.

When you have BPOs, and a lot of workers, and residents, many will go to McDonalds and Landers, as they need food. So, the township will be activated once you have all the components, Geronimo said.

He said that they are now looking for tenants for the commercial spaces, as the ground floors of Megaworld condominium properties are retail spaces, as well as those beside the park near McDonald’s.

Megaworld Corp. has added P10 billion to its investment for The Upper East as it sees a promising future for the 34-hectare property township, now fast rising to be Bacolod’s first modern central business district. This is on top of its ₱35 billion investment, which includes the 50-hectare Northill Gateway located at the boundary of the cities of Talisay and Bacolod.

Geronimo also reported that Landers has already started construction of its superstore, which will sit on a 2.5-hectate property. It will be directly connected to the Upper East mall through an air-conditioned bridge way.

Landers is also bringing in imported goods from other countries, he added.

Starting next month, Geronimo also announced that Landers will set up booths for its memberships.

They are targeting 40,000 membership for Landers in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, as well neighboring provinces of Iloilo and Negros Oriental.

Additional membership perks include discounted fuel at the Landers-Caltex gas station, low-priced medicine from Capital Care Pharmacy and free haircuts from Federal Barbers.*
